We wanted to show the bits people didn’t see at Emma & Jordan’s Wedding! This is the preparation stage of any wedding, and one of the most important elements!
In case you’re wondering why I’m straddling the aisle, I wanted Emma to be the first person to walk on the 42ft bed of rose petals (it took about 700 roses to make the beautiful aisle). Luckily we were at St Margarets church, so the guests had another two aisles to choose from when taking their seats!
Dean made a magical woodland feel entrance inspired by the Twilight movies, this theme was continued throughout the whole church. It took him a mere 5 hours to create.
Bill and Ben the ‘flower hat’ men, had to carry the table centre arrangements on their heads because they were so huge their arms weren’t long enough to hold them any other way!
Who needs a gym membership when you work as a florist, here’s me getting my guns out for a photo.
Of course a vital element of creating a wedding masterpiece are the flowers themselves, who were supplied by the fantastic S Robert Allen Ltd.
Emma chose the most glorious Lily of the Valley for her bridal bouquet intertwined with heads of Stephanotis with trailing Jasmine to give a beautiful scent as she walked down the aisle (did you now that brides originally carried bouquets because in the 1600s people bathed very infrequently, so wanted to smell their best for the big day!)…I can confirm this did not apply to our beautiful bride Emma.
The bridesmaids bouquets continued the theme with gorgeous scented David Austin Roses, Jasmine and flowing hand dyed silk ribbon. There were five knockout bridesmaids to accompany Emma down the aisle, each with an individual dress that came together as a stunning collective.
The men were adorned with a specially selected Keira David Austin rose, along with Lily of the Valley to match Emma’s bridal bouquet.
Birch trees and under planting embellished the entrance of the church, this gave a whimsical feel to the start of the day.
Inside, another four trees were under planted with Fox Gloves, Fern’s and Mosses. This ran along the entire length of the balustrade at the alter. The look was finished with petals from seven hundred roses scattered along the aisle.
Rose gold was the theme of the day for Emma and Jordan – accents were scattered throughout the room with votives, sequin table cloths and lanterns. The room was filled with statement pieces including an 18ft flower run with flowerfall, majestic Wisteria tree and giant flower balls resting on crystal clear vessels mirroring the grandeur of the day.
Thousands of stems went into creating the magnificent top table runner which cascaded off onto the floor. This was formed of Hydrangea, Avalanche Roses, Peonies, Astilbe, Guelder Rose and Phalaenopsis and Singapore Orchids (we used Orchids because Jordan gave Emma an Orchid corsage when he took her to prom…how romantic).
The Wisteria tree towered over the guests, creating a canopy; illuminated by delicate glass globes. This was under planted with a forest of Ferns, Moss and woodland timber to create a magical feel.
Once the giant flower balls were placed onto the vessels they created a luxury look that filled the room. The floral theme from the top table extended to the centre pieces, and pulled the look together.
Jordan Rhodes said – ‘Thank you so much for all your hard work, effort and floristry genius! You made Emma’s floral dreams come true!’.
Emma Rhodes said – ‘Thank you for your stunning floral arrangements and artistry for our wedding. Everything looked absolutely perfect – the stuff of my dreams – and we owe it all to you. I think everyone at the wedding was blown away!’
